There was a huge response to the threads about how to prevent colds. Seems like there’s no proven preventative but there was a lot of accord that hand washing could be good. I’ve also read about how too much hand washing is “bad.” What’s a guy to do? Btw, mabb probably has it right that I should just stop biting my nails. Duh.

Hugely popular thread that thing about avoiding colds. It’s really long and I’ll admit I’ve probably missed something, but is there anything about any studies that show what works and/or doesn’t? Lots of “here’s what I do and I haven’t been sick in N years” but I really need something that says on a large population factor X has a 30% likelihood of influencing outcome Y. I started a new thread.
I get a lot of colds, even down here in sunny Arizona where I didn’t think it would be possible. Anybody got any tips? I take C but then I’ve been told I really need to score some D. Thoughts?

Got this manual drill where you just push down the handle a few times to make a hole. No charger, no cords, bits are in the handle. Amazingly ingenious invention!
Watched the recent Oz the Great and Powerful with the kids and then the older Wizard of Oz with Dorothy. Kids preferred the newer one. What you think? I would never have wanted to try to follow in the heels of the classic but I gotta say I think they did a nice job with the new one.

Wow, sorry I left that last one up so long. Busy with family stuff I guess. Oddly enough on “vacation” I seem to have less free time than when I’m working. Go figure. I got one of those inflatable Santas for the front yard thinking that’d be a good way to make decorating easy. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to secure that thing in the desert gravel front lawn. I gotta say, being kinda new to Arizona, it seems very weird to be wearing short sleeves and sweating whilst packing up Christmas decorations.
